Shri Trimbakeshwar Temple

Lord Trimbakeshwar is one of the manifestation of Lord 'shiva'. This is one of the holy place on earth. Planet earth rotates from east to west direction. This directs the river flows from west to east. Holy places are the distinct places where river flows either from south to north or north to south  direction. Trimbakeshwar is surrounded by mountains and has 2 rivers named as Ahilya and Godavari. These 2 rivers meets at Trimbakeshwar and  infulences on  this place be a sacred place.

Lord Trimbakeshwar  is the God who protects us from all destructive activites. He has 5 heads and they are facing towards different mountains surrounding Trimbakeshwar city. He has 3 eyes. The third eye is used to destroy the destructive things in the world.His vehicle is 'Nandi' (Bullock), He plays instrument called Damaru.He has 'trishul' in his hands and adorns the heads of dead people. He festoons cobra snake around  his neck.He adorns (Ganga)river stream up on his head .He as well has moon on his for-head. Deity is worshipped by his sign rather than his actual image. This symbol is called as 'linga'. 

The construction of  this temple commenced by Shrimant Balaji Bajirao aka Nanasahib Peshawe in 1755 and completed in 1786.There are three 'linga' of the size of a thumb and they are called as Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh - the creator, the preservator and the destroyer. These  lingas are incarnated by nature and on top of Shiv linga stream of river falls naturally.Lord Trimbakeshwar is worshipped thrice a day.

Shri Nivrthi nath Temple

Trimbakeshwar city has long heritage of preacher-disciple tradition. This is the place where saint NivrthiNath  preached about the spiritual knowledge by his preacher GahiniNath. He is the follower of 'Nath' (God) community  and there are millions of  follower of this community today in india .This is the place where Saint NivruthiNath has achieved his immortal ( 'Samadhi' ) state of yoga .Every year in January there is a big festival ('yatra') for  3 days.

This is the place where GahiniNath preached NivrthiNath about the sacred spiritual knowledge. There is a Ram-Laxman 'thirtha' in this cave.

Shri Nilambika/Dattatrya Temple

This temple is on top of the Neel mountain. All goddess ('Matamba','Renuka','Mananmba') came here to see 'parashuram' when he was performing his pray.After his pray he requested all goddess to stay here and this temple is formed for these goddess. There are myths about God Dattatrya was born here also.

Shri Brahma Savitri Temple

This is temple situated at outskirts of the Trimbakeshwar city. Pretty lonely place to achieve peace of mind. There are lots of the Yaddnyas performed here by Kings. This is the temple of Lord Brahma (God of preservation).

Shri Gajanan Maharaj Temple

Saint Gajanan Maharaj is another valued  saint from Maharashtra from last century. This is a big temple comes before entering to the Trimbakeshwar city

Shri Gayatri Temple

This temple is adjecent to Shri Trimbakeshwar temple. Goddess Gayatri is prayed to learn spiritual and religious knowledge about human being , birth , death.

Shri Parshuram Temple

During 1672 people living at southern Maharashtra migrated to Trimbakeshwar for priest  business. They all settled down around 1750 and decided to build  one temple of lord Parshuram. As their is the will there is the way ,temple was constructed in 1801. Priests  from this temple allows students to stay for learning Vedas and other Hindu Literature.
